VERNIES Cakes is run by cake decorator Laverne who is all about good cake and attention to detail. Working from her London kitchen, Laverne likes nothing more than to see the smile on the face of her customers when they see their finished cake.
​
Laverne loves cake, she enjoys baking cake, decorating cakes but most importantly she loves eating cake! So, when thinking about what she could do if she emigrated to the Caribbean, she knew it would be a business that would involve cake. Although her dreams of living it up on the beach front selling cakes never came to fruition her love for baking and cake decorating stayed strong.

Her lucky colleagues in the office, where she worked as a TV video editor, would get to eat her cupcakes, trying new flavours every week. Family functions also became a whole lot sweeter when word got round that Vernie had brought one of her cakes!
​
On her daughter’s 6th birthday Laverne made her first tiered cake, Frozen themed of course. Although wonky in places the cake was a hit and cake orders would soon follow from her own special occasion.
Laverne’s love for the different art techniques that can be explored in cake decorating florished. After being made redundant she decided it was a great time to push Vernies Cakes to next stage and grow the business for all to try out her beautiful sugar creations.
